Individual items do not make style

I think that is important for me to remember is that individual items of clothing do not make a style. It can be frustrating when a particular dress isn't in your size or when you miss a chance to pick-up a pair of sandals on serious sale, but it needs to be taken in stride. No matter how much I've idealized a pair of sandals, I know that they alone do not define my style. A person's style is made up of what outfits they wear over a period of time, right?
